Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.
The titles, brother, sister, friend, are used to describe the relationship of Christians with each other. A bond or kinship stronger than blood. Unless we understand the beauty of a local assembly or fellowship of believers we can never appreciate the beauty of being a family united by God’s Holy Spirit. True brothers and sisters are there in times of trouble.
We live in a world of finger-pointing and blame. We see and hear people expecting much higher standards of others than they expect from themselves. Brothers and sisters will show understanding, mercy, love. After all, we have been adopted into God’s family. We are in fellowship with God, who is our Father, Mother and Brother! We are learning what real love is!
