I find it wonderful that the Almighty Creator God cares about the poor and set many rules in place to make sure His people cared for the poor with compassion and practical help. We need to remember that we are all poor in the eyes of God. No amount of wealth alters the fact that we lack the things necessary for a rich, fulfilled, spiritual life. Unless of course, we repent and put our trust in Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
